Premium Organic Coffee Direct from Uganda
Enjoy this tasteful, medium body roast with hints of orange, cherry and caramel.
Our Ugandan beans are gown on family owned farms located on the verdant slopes of Mount Elgon, in the Kabeywa region of Uganda. Bordering Kenya, these beans are processed at the Sipi Falls Mill, which is surrounded by three beautiful waterfalls. Upon harvesting, the beans are fully washed and sun dried on raised beds.
Coffee Production in Uganda
Coffee production in Uganda has had a turbulent past due to regional and international economic conditions. The country was producing upwards of 2.3 million bags a year in the late Eighties but had issues with coffee being smuggled to neighboring counties for sale on international markets.
As of January 23, 2018, the CIA Factbook shows that agriculture employs one-third of the workforce while coffee is responsible for the bulk of export revenues. Uganda farmers have the ability to almost double their income if they choose to process their coffee at wet mills. This gives them the ability to become more efficient growers and spend more resources focusing on quality.
What Makes This Coffee So Beautiful?
